WHAT I SAW - COYOTES (3) VS FLYERS (4) 1/27/15

CAPSULE - COYOTES 16-25-6 just 15 pts out of a playoff spot in the WEST. FLYERS 19-22-7 just 10 pts out of a playoff spot in the EAST. 

CRAYON - Must have been pretty pissed after sitting to two games as a healthy scratch. 4 shots through 2, with a goal and an assist. I do believe this was the CRAYON the COYOTES traded for last year. 

McMILLAN - Got a holding penalty in the 1st. Dumb. I mean the call was dumb not McMILLIAN, the kid is trying his guts out. Not horror movie guts, just the stuff that makes you win.

YOU GOT TO - Move it. I have seen a ton of FLYERS games this year because NBC must own them or something. They do suck most nights, but they will beat the crap out of you physically. 

DOAN - Was skating a lot harder tonight that I have seen him in awhile. At least 3 times against the boards in the FLYERS zone he was giving them fits taking the body rather than the puck. DOAN also had 2 assists tonight.

YANDLE - had multiple shots in front of the net in the 2nd and opted to pass it off to someone who wasn't open for a shot. I am not a YANDLE hater, but that deep in their zone, why not just put it on net? It's not like you are going to get back on D at that point anyway. Not a good game for him in the +- department. 

REIDER - Other teams let him loose on a breakaway...because they are dumb. REIDER was also tripped on what could have been another breakaway in the 3rd

OEL - Had a pretty solid night. I am not sure how this is the first time I have ever heard that his team mates refer to him as "Harry"? I know why now, and I remember the situation, but I didn't know the nickname stuck. I did notice however that I need to shave.

KORPEDO - No, but so close.

MERCURY - I decided to go with the Tilapia tonight. Little bit of bacon ranch. Don't judge me, you know you love the ranch.

GAGNE - Had a great game offensively tonight as far as the line he was on and generating time in the offensive zone. Oddly however he didn't register a shot on net...why ...why???? He finally did  have a shot in OT and completely missed the net. 

CHIPS - I get that he is a vet, but I don't see why he keeps getting put on the line with KOPRY. If there was one thing I'd switch up for 2 or 3 weeks, it would be that. He played a very tough game tonight.

CAMPBELL - Had probably the best chance in the 3rd for the COYOTES and sent it over the net. By way of comparison, the FLYERS entire team did a LOT of that tonight.

SMITH - Played his face off. 3 goals allowed on 41 shots. To be honest, if he would have had a bad night, we would have been crushed. Like.. you know...stuff that gets crushed. SMITH could have used a little freakin help in the shoot out. 

MURPHY - So happy to see him get a goal. I do like this kid even though I think I may have made his fans cry at times this year. 

HANZAL - Looks back into form, but a lot like GAGNE finished the night with very few shots on goal. Well few... meaning 1. 

LESSIO - Less visible tonight that he was in the last game. This goes back to needing the secondary guys to show up  nightly. 

UMM - The COYOTES committed like 26 penalties in the OT. 

IS THIS THING ON? - We are on to TORONTO.
