WHAT I SAW - COYOTES (4) VS BLUE JACKETS (1) 2/3/15

WHAT I SAW - COYOTES (4) VS BLUE JACKETS (1) 2/3/15

CAPSULES - COYOTES 18-26-6 just 13 points out of 8th place. BLUE JACKETS 30% of at Burlington Coat Factory.

SMITH - Sometimes flops around for no reason when the puck is like 35 feet away. Sometimes players from the other team like to sit on him because he looks like a gigantic white couch with Coyote red trim. #circdesoleiltryouts.
In all seriousness, it was a solid game for SMITH.

MOSS - Can't buy a goal... seriously, not even if he went on Amazon.com.

DOAN - Playing like a man who knows he is safe at the trade deadline. After the 2nd period he was 100% shooting. 1 shot, 1 goal. I think he can get blamed for the 2nd goal we scored as well after nicely screening Forsberg who was in net. Had a couple really solid clears out of the zone on D in the 3rd.

FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK - We salute you....fire....

STONE - Speaking of rocks...STONE has a really freakin hard shot. Holy cow I thought he was going to blow someone's foot to Grove City (that's a small city in OHIO, just letting you know so you don't google it).

McMILLAN - Had a solid game. 5 shots on net, all over the net.

OEL - Leads the team in goals with 15. He also leads the team in longest hair in front of his face during an interview. Not as good as DOAN after 2 periods, he had 5 shots on net and only put 1 in the net...come on OEL. Just messing with you. That 15 goals is a career high which is great for a defensmen.

YANDLE - Leads the team in points (36) and assists (32). Oddly more goals do seem to be scored when he is on the ice than any other player on the team. So - if you don't like him, you might be one of those "cup half empty" people. If you love him you are probably a "cup half full" person.

TYSON - Would have to do 134.5 interviews for his 5 MINUTES IN THE BOX show to finally equal the actual number of penalty minutes he had in the NHL.

LESSIO - Another one of his high effort nights. 1 goal, just about the right number of shots on net. Had a sick dive to knock the puck out of the zone in the 3rd. 2nd best defensive play of  the night.

CROMBEEN - Is back on the ice and playing well. 1 assist, lots of "get the heck out of my face". He did have a "what the heck" attempt at a pass in the 3rd, but that was really the only strange thing he did all night.

WHAT - Did that dude in the ST LOUIS jersey get lost?

THE KINGS - Just had to mention this...they got jack stomped tonight.

CHIPS - Not sure how often he fight. I am going to say...almost never. Tonight however, no problem. Loved his effort toight especially in the 3rd when we needed it.

SHINNIMIN - I pick on this guy a lot, but it was a nice night tonight. Decent number of shots on net and more important an assist.

KOPRY - Still playing well after a great day in MONTREAL Sunday. No shots, but he did have a critical assist. Yes "critical" the kind of assist that might die!!!

TACO BELL - Got rid of the XXL Nachos. I hate them now. Okay...it might not be hate, but it's anger...a lot of anger right now.

CRAYON - Seemed to be on a line that produced almost nothing tonight. 1 shot and KOPRY's assist for the entire line.

CAMPBELL - Batted what likely would have been a goal away from behind SMITH in the 3rd. Of course SMITH was flopping all over the ice at the time.

GAGNE - A little better on Defense tonight, but the offense was non-existant and that I thought was why he was on the ice.

VERMETTE - I hope like crazy they don't trade him. Another 2 assists tonight.

REIDER - Might be on the ice tonight. I thought I saw a blurry 8 jersey at some point, not sure, it was moving too fast. Never mind...I see him now, he's in the penalty box.  He also scored the goal in the 3rd for us...but I am just going by what the announcers  said...all I saw was a blur...

MURPHY - Great night for this kid. Not a ton on the score sheet, but solid solid D.
