WHAT I SAW - COYOTES (2) VS JETS (3) 11/21/15
CAPSULES : Coyotes 10-9-1 / Coming off a win against the Canadiens the Coyotes looked to finish up their current road trip with a win. Winnipeg 10-9-2 / Apparently they are one of the biggest teams in the league. I don't know that this matters as long as the Coyotes stay away from distracting fights. I love fights..it's just not the Coyotes' style this year.
LINDBACK - Why you no have the goalie mask painted? Too many days at the SMITH school of anti-net net minding. First goal was weak. He also thinks he is SMITH when it comes to playing the puck as well. He did have some massive saves in the 3rd but gave up a stoppable shorty.
OH CANADA - You have a legendary band named Big Sugar. Big Sugar.
STONE - Solid early on D and I can't say enough about this guy's shot. Unfortunately, later in the game he got beat off the puck and allowed a short-handed shot on LINDBACK that went in.
VERMETTE - Is someone controlling your mind? Crickets...is how I would describe his game play right now.
POWERPLAY - Maybe after tonight we will be 26th in the league for scoring? Or maybe even 1st when it comes to short-handed goals allowed.
DOAN - Has 6 powerplay goals on the year. Nice to see the captain get it going. DOAN is not a selfish player, but it's totally fine to let the puck fly when you have a shot like his. Really strange penalty in the 2nd. DOAN gets slashed, checked from behind and almost killed, but it's his fault?
MURPHY - Should shoot from Regina, Saskatchewan more often.
SAMUELSSON - Had a good solid 1st and 2nd on D. Finally looks like he's pushing the puck up the ice. Even a nice shot on net. He did take a pretty poorly-timed penalty in the 3rd.
BYFUGLIEN - Is not only a great player for the JETS, but he also might think he is a bird. Odd goal celebration.
PIESTEWA PEAK - Has a few trails that cling to the side of the mountain and make you feel like you might die. Or maybe...maybe that is just me.
Z - Having a good night offensively with 3 shots, but defensively it's been a lot of him on his back.
RIEDER - Lots of shots, but nothing as open as we normally see him get.
DOMI - Broke his stick. Unfortunately through 2 entire periods he hadn't even registered a shot. He did have a few good chances at breakaways but was caught each time.
WINNIPEG FREE PRESS - That sounds like a weekend special for a coffee place.
DAHLBECK - Destroyed LADD. It would be nice to see him get more and more involved. A lot of ice time tonight with more than anyone on the team after 2 periods.
HANZEL - Has had more hits tonight that I have seen out of him all year. Unfortunately, he also drew 2 penalties for all his efforts and well into the 3rd hadn't even taken one shot on net.
RICHARDSON - Is a far better player than his stat line.
BOEDS - Had an assist tonight on DOAN's goal, but it's just nice to see him continue putting shots on net on the PP.
SCOTT - I really like this guy when he isn't detracting from the team effort. Tonight he really didn't get a chance with the least amount of ice time out of anyone.
PASSING - Not sure I have seen a night where the Coyotes had more missed passes.
