WHAT I SAW - COYOTES (4) VS PREDATORS (0) 1/9/16

WHAT I SAW - COYOTES (4) VS PREDATORS (0) 01/09/16

CAPSULES : Coyotes 21-16-4 / I can't remember the last time the Coyotes lost in regulation aside from the Chicago game?  Nashville 19-16-7 / Started out the season one of the hottest teams in the league.  Things have tapered off since then, but this team is no joke.

VERMETTE - How big was his powerplay goal?  Well how many of us even remembered he was on the team?

UP NORTH - Jenn and I went to Flagstaff today with my son Logan.  It's not as cold up there as you'D think and it's freakin' beautiful and snow is freakin' everywhere.  Wait...sorry this is hockey blog...hang tight.

MURPHY - Has been a completely different player lately.  Not sure if it's being paired with OEL or if his maturity as a player is coming into play.  We do know...he will jack you the heck up.

OVER THE YEARS - Clementine saw a lot.

DUCLAIR - Has got to be one of our favorite new players.  DUCLAIR gets a lot of disrespect from other teams including getting jacked in the face tonight.  He just keeps coming and that wins us over.  This guy and DOMI are just flat out sick.

RANDY - Is bar-be-cuing.

LINDBACK - Not sure why the team hasn't tried to move him.

TYSON - Has talked about our team speed for a long time now.  When another team is on a back to back it's really, really apparent they just cannot compete with the Coyotes, 9 games out of 10.

WHEELS - I kind of want to start calling RIEDER "WHEELS".  He deserved an assist credit for the hustle play on VERMETTE's goal.  Looks like he got blamed for one of our goals against Hutton tonight.

HANZAL - Is a really underrated player and he really helps DUCLAIR's game. Another goal tonight (or at least I blame him for scoring it).  Now maybe some visits to the "land of patient hockey players" and he can get his penalty minutes down.

YARD SALE - A yard sale in hockey is when there is a huge fight and a bunch of gloves and sticks and other random equipment is left on the ice after or during the fight.  It is not just a bunch of players fighting for the puck.  Not going to say who uses this term way too much...but here is the actual "yard sale" definition as it pertains to hockey.  Just for future reference.

MINGUE DYNASTY - (credit owed to the radio side) but holy cow, DOMINGUE has brought stability to our goal-tending situation.  I have gotten to a point where I am a little shocked when the other team gets one by him.

EBAY - Is going to have a ton of SMITH mini-lockers on sale Wednesday night. I love SMITH and hope he gets his game back in order at some point, but this wasn't good timing on that promotion.

DOAN - Is drinking some pretty serious coffee right now, or reading a lot of Harry Potter or something because he's magic right now on the ice.

THE DANCING BEAR - GROSSMAN is starting to come back into form also.
There was a point this season where I thought he might be trade bait ooh ha ha.

SEEING DOUBLE - Why is it that COX, PAPPA JOHNS, FRY's and WM need double ads on the boards?

OEL - Some great plays lately that probably saved a goal at about the 10 minute mark of the 3rd.

MARTINOOK - Is like Director Fury in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.  He does all kinds of stuff, but hardly ever gets the credit he deserves.

108 - The MPH for WEBER's shot.
