CAPSULES - COYOTES 1-3-0. The Coyotes are the best in the league right now at allowing your team to score (5 goals per game before tonight). ISLANDERS 2-3-0. Going into tonight's game the ISLANDERS had actually scored less goals than the COYOTES even though they have played one more game. The DEVILS are the worst though at just 6 goals in 4 games, but that's not important right now.

OEL (23) - Nice pass in the 2nd off the boards to get it to RICHARDSON (15) around the defenders. Just one of those little things that shows his intelligence on the ice. It did come after the Islanders were able to get right down the middle through him and MURPHY (5). MURPHY didn't even make an effort on the play...kinda nuts. If anyone should be tired, I would go with OEL, he's logged about a million minutes of ice time in the past two nights.

DOMI (16) - Was actually angled off the puck on a rush in the first which caused
him to lose the puck leading to the Islanders breakaway. At first glance it looked
like a bad line change, but that wasn't the case. DOMI is slowly getting back into his groove.

PRISM TV - I don't think you can make me feel like a Hollywood Insider.

RICHARDSON (15) - Put one past the "eyeballs" of HALAK according to Tyson. Just 13 seconds later VRBATA (17) tipped one in. I kinda wonder if Tippett gave him the business last night for doing almost nothing.

CHYCHRUN (6) - It's early, but this guy might be for real.

IN THE EYE OF THE STROME (20) - Well his brother scored, so that has to count
for something right?

CROUSE (67) - Drew two penalties. I kinda dig that.

MY DOG - Is so small and quiet, I forget that we even own a dog sometimes.

DUCLAIR (10) - Seems to be forcing it a bit right now. You can see they are getting him more opportunities and he is creating in the offensive zone, but he's got the skill to take more time with his shots.

SHORTY - It seems like every game this season there has been a short-handed goal, one way or the other. Unfortunately this one cost us the game.

DOMINGUE (35) - Overall a solid night, but I still would have started Peters. I
am seeing the puck handling we saw out of DOMINGUE last year and that's a good sign if SMITH is out for an extended period of time. He should have stopped the short-handed goal though. You can not let that stuff happen.

THAT GUY - Behind Tippett has a super blue super shiny wrist band of some type. I may have just inadvertently been blinded by science.

MARTINOOK (48) - This is the first night where I felt he was losing a little steam.

DAUPHIN (76) - Had another pretty solid game tonight. 1 Assist and some decent drives to the net.

GOLIGOSKI (33) - I don't know if they keep a bad shot stat for individuals,
but I have no idea where he was trying to put the puck tonight. I think one of his shots is out on my patio.

DOAN (19) - Another assist tonight. I think we can break out the "One More Year" petition now....just sayin'. DOAN 2017-18.

EFFORT - This was a gutsy effort by the Coyotes tonight, but it definitely was NOT a must win. You can see the pieces starting to fall into place.

65% - This is the kind of face off win percentage we need to see night in night out.

TYSON's - Hair looks a little greenish tonight.

McBAIN - No ice time tonight.

STONE (26) - Looked good in his return, but the chemistry on D is going to take
some time.

REIDER (8) - Had an assist tonight, but he is going to be expected to do more
for that price.
