WHAT I SAW : COYOTES (2) VS RANGERS (3) 10/23/16

CAPSULES - COYOTES 1-4-0. The Coyotes are 19th overall in goals this season. They are up against the 3rd ranked Rangers. The Coyotes have also been able to hold on to their "most goals allowed" honor at 4.5 per game. RANGERS 4-2-0
were looking to get things revved up against a team that probably has Wizard
Of Oz on repeat...there is no place like home. This is now the 3rd time already
this season that the Coyotes took on a team that played the night before.

STROME (15) - Sat out tonight.  It's not like he was bad or anything, but the
coaches were probably expecting more than 3 shots on net in 3 games.

STREAKY - VRBATA (17) When he is on he is on. When he is off, it's like he's
not even at the arena. Like, maybe he gets stuck in traffic or something.
VRBATA is getting it done production-wise. 2 Goals tonight.

HAYES - When HAYES is on the boards and he is surrounded by opposing players he just passes it right to one of them just to avoid getting stressed out.

BACK TO THE FUTURE - MARTINOOK (48) may have actually gone back in time and found the guts and effort of the 2011-2012 team and just started playing like that all the time.

HANZAL (11) - Was able to knock a puck away in the 1st when the Rangers were on a power play. Had he not done that, it could have been disaster.  The Coyotes were able to completely stiffle the Rangers PP after that, not allowing another shot. Later the Rangers did score on a PP but it wasn't on Hanzal.

9V - The Rangers are celebrating their 90th year as a team, but the making the
team's logo the "0" in the anniversay logo was a bad idea.  It looks more like a V. Congrats on your 9Vth anniversary Rangers.

SCHWARTZ - LASER EYE. They should just stop there. I know Schwartz Laser Eye Center makes a ton of money, but if they want to keep up with the kids today they need to take the word "Center" off their name and just call themselves SCHWARTZ LASER EYE. It just sounds way cooler.

DOMI (16) - Looks like he is ready to explode. Not in the "best way to kill a
Gremlin" type of exploding...but exploding in an "I make other teams players
cry" way. Nice hard effort tonight. Great assist to VRBATA tonight.

CHYCHRUN (6) - Has a pretty good on-target shot, except when we needed it late. Like the rest of the D right now, needs to sure up his positioning.

MURPHY (5) - A lot of his shots and passes tonight went somewhere that didn't
help the Coyotes.

SCHENN (2) - There was a SCHENN sighting in the offensive zone tonight. He looked like he might have a few moves there. His man did get away in the 1st which likely cost us that 1st goal.

DOAN (19) - If you are in Doan's way in front of the net, you will regret it.
DOAN's passes lately are looking just a tad off the mark.

JACK - Would your significant other still love you if you had a JACK IN THE BOX
head?

DAUPHIN (76) - Is looking more and more comfortable as the season moves along.

KING LOUIS (35) - For McConnell, Louis has won his way back to "king"-dom.

DUCLAIR (10) - Has been shooting more than usual lately, but from too far out on the net and nothing is connecting so far. Patience young jedi.

COYOTES - This team is starting to get closer and closer to doing stuff that
makes you win. Very promising effort. D needs to get it together, the O is
starting to move forward.
