CAPSULES - COYOTES 8-13-5 The Coyotes came into tonight having
the fewest regulation wins of any team in the league. Not a broken
record, it just a fact right now. FLAMES 15-13-2 due to a
scheduling oddity, they have already played 4 more games than 26 other
teams in the league.
REIDER (8) - Has a few almost breakaways, but only had 2 shots on net
deep into the 3rd.
WHITE (25) - I haven't seen much from him on the ice this year, but
that fight in the first was epic. He took a cross checking penalty in
the 2nd to make sure that DUCLAIR wasn't the only one taking penalties
tonight.
DUCLAIR (10) - Rough 1st half of the game with 2 minor penalties and
only 1 shot on net.
HANZAL (11) - Got dragged down in front of the FLAMES goalie in the 2nd.
Of course the refs just totally blew it off thinking to themselves. "Did
we close the garage door when we left the house?" Overall this was one
of HANZAL's best games in awhile.
DOMI (16) - Basically willed his goal in the 1st into the net with his
mind. Late in the 2nd, he took a punch in the eye during a fight where he
had had enough of HATHAWAY. This was after DOMI slammed him to the ground like a rag doll.
VRBATA (17) - Had a shot in the 3rd that shook up JOHNSON in the FLAMES
net.
DEWEY FINN - It will test your head... and your mind... and your brain, too.
GIVE ME YOUR BEST SHOT - At one point in the 1st the COYOTES lead in the
shots on goal department 7 to 1. It went downhill after that.
DVORAK (18) - Looked great on the line with DOAN and DOMI.
MURPHY (5) - Laying down the law. MURPHY's LAW.
MARTINOOK (48) - Another solid game, but missed an opportunity late
in the 3rd on what could have been a shot on net.
PERLINI (29) - His passing is still way off.
TKACHUK - Can't stop chewing his mouthpiece.
MCGINN (88) - Made at least 2 behind the back, no look, between the legs,
over the river and through the woods passes that went nowhere tonight and
broke up good pressure in the offensive zone.
DOAN (19) - Has more assists than the BUFFALO SABRES have wins in
16 years. He really ramped up his game tonight.
SCHENN (2) - Was on tonight. Great pressure on the FLAMES offense causing
them a lot of issues. He also had 2 rare shots on net.
CHYCHURN (6) - Is a big strong dude. He was knocking FLAMES around tonight
like they were paper people.
LOGAN - When I ask him to turn down his radio. He is like "Turn down
for what?"
GOLIGOSKI (33) - When he gets knocked down, he gets up again.
SMITH (41) - Allowed a weak goal in the 1st. For quite awhile in the 2nd,
didn't even have his stick.
RIGHTING THE SHIP - The COYOTES need to capture 7 out of the next
10 to get back on track. 6 and 4 would be a slower path, but it's
certainly more likely if they have good efforts like they did tonight.
