WHAT I SAW : COYOTES (5) VS CANUCKS (2) 2/28/19
HINOSTROZA (13) – I think I have mentioned this before, but
his speed much just annoy the crap out of other teams. He draws a TON of
penalties including 2 in a row in the 2nd period.
GOLIGOSKI (33) – Had a good night. No goals, but just really
solid. He did take a penalty with 2:41 to go in the 3rd, but, I
would have taken that penalty also.
FOOD – Yeah, I should have had a bigger dinner earlier.
VIEW FROM NEAR THE TOP – Well for most of the year the
Coyotes were 1st in Short Handed Goals and Penalty Kill %. Right now
they are 2nd in both. Calgary actually has the most shorty’s. The
Lightning have the best Penalty Kill %, but only each are a head of
respectfully by a narrow narrow margin.
PANIK AT THE DISCO (14) – Has a nice backwards pass to
RICHARADSON on his 3rd goal. That wasn’t Panik’s first assist
though, it was his 2nd on the night.
RICHARDSON (15) – Committed a bad penalty in the 1st
but made up for it just seconds after getting out of the box with a breakaway
goal. Ridiculous in the best way possible. HINOSTROZA had a crazy head of speed
into the Canucks zone and that lead to RICHARDSON’s 2nd goal of the
night. I felt last game he was starting to feel it, and tonight…just wow. As
Tyson Nash says…”feed the chicken!” RICHARDSON would score again in the 2nd
for the hat-trick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wait
hang on….he actually he scored yet another goal with about 11:57 to go in the 3rd. So…4 goals on the night…. I am going to call
it a HATRICH-ARDSON.
GALCHENYUK (17) – Love this guy, but he had at least 3
turnovers in the first 27 minutes of the game. Per usual he made up for it
scoring the Coyotes 4th goal of the night, so yeah, all is forgiven.
DVORAK (18) – Got some PP time tonight. Unfortunately the
Coyotes were still reeling from the injury to STEPHAN and just looked
completely out of sink.
STEPHAN (21) – Had some sort of knee injury in the 3rd.
Bloody hell, that is the last thing we need. Hopefully he’s okay, but it did
not look like it’s going to be okay. You could hear a pin drop in the arena.
THE FLORIDA COACH – Isn’t doing plaid any favors.
WHAT THE HECK – Is the My Pillow guy doing in those people’s
cabinet?
KELLER (9) – Umm, not sure how to put this, but he looked
pretty over-matched tonight. He needs to really focus in if he is going to have
an impact down the stretch.
THAT CANUCKS FAN – Making hands gestures behind Jodi Jackson
during the 1st period. Congrats, dude, you got on tv?
OESTERLE (82) – Looked completely fantastic on the ice individually
tonight. His name also makes me think of soup crackers.
COUSINS (25) – Quietly solid. I mean, not quiet like he’s not saying stuff.
I am pretty sure he’s saying stuff.
KEMPE (29) – Looked to have some really good energy tonight,
but that might have been due to having the lowest amount of ice time after 2
full periods at 7 minutes, 21 seconds.
ARCHIBALD (45) – I am pretty sure he’s not bald.
CROUSE (67) – After the first period had already racked up
two blocked shots and an assist. Overall a pretty solid night for him.
GARLAND (83) – Got a penalty for kneeing. Pretty damn
random, it looked like a normal solid hit from th e angle we got, but perhaps
that isn’t the whole story.
THE LOCKSMITH HJALMARSSON (4) – Has had 19 blocks in the
last 6 games. Holy moly.
CHYCHRUN (6) – Hit the post in the 2nd as well.
The Coyotes are like really freaking good at this. He got in-advertently high
sticked in the 3rd period. It drew a 4 minute penalty, kinda steep
if you ask me, but we’ll take it.
OEL (23) – Don’t look now. Two really solid games in a row.
2 assists on the night.
LYUBUSHKIN (46) – Somehow drew a penalty in the first after
being body slammed by Beagle of Vancouver. No relation to Snoopy.
KUEMPER (35) – He is just freakin incredible. What a huge
game, he’s got 6 straight wins now. Having said that I am pretty sure some fans
will still insist we should have stuck with HILL.
WRAP UP – Well, the Oilers pulled one out against one of the
other worst teams in the league winning 4-2 over Ottawa. The good news is they
are still trailing the Coyotes in pts. The Golden Knights looked pretty bad
most of the night, but managed to pull out an OT victory over the Panthers 6-5.
So they stay 6pts In front of the Coyotes with 73 pts. Dallas also won in OT….bleh….
