IT CAME FROM OUT OF THE ICE : HURRICANES (5) VS CAPITALS (0)
4/15/19
FOEGELE (13) Decided tonight was the night to freakin light
it up with 2 goals. Granted on of them kinda bounced off of him into the Caps
net after FAULK put it on net from down town. On that first goal, the place
went freakin bonkers. FOEGELE also got
jacked up in front of the net before getting in the position to get the
deflection.
HAMILTON (19) His goal in the 2nd to put the
CANES up 3-0 was just flat out sick. FOEGELE was also in front of the net on
this one which has really been big. HAMILTON also lead the defensemen in shots
after 2. Half Way thought the 3rd HAMILTON scored his second goal
ripping one past Holtby like he was brought in off the DIAL-A-GOALIE phone
line.
17 – The number of shots the HURRICANES outshot the CAPS by
in the 2nd period. The Capitals only had 1 shot on net the entire 2nd
period.
SVECHNIKOV (37) – Got in a fight with Ovechkin in the first
and was slammed down to the ice. It doesn’t look like he will be back any time
soon. This sucks because he’s been a huge factor all year and actually scored
the first 2 goals for the CANES in the playoffs this year. He was only on the
ice for 4:05 tonight. Really hoping he’s okay.
STAAL (11) – Registered an assist on HAMILTON’s goal. He
also hit everything that was even close to him the entire game. 10 hits in all,
which lead the team.
CNBC – Worst channel in the freakin world. Probably cut out
on me 4 times during the 3rd period. One of their announcers
actually said the Capitals were making it easy on the CANES. Are you freakin
kidding me? Not accurate dude…not at all.
WILLIAMS (14) – Had 2 shots and 4 hits on the night.
AHO (20) – Had a nice assist to a wide open FOEGELE on the 2nd
goal of the game.
WRITERS BLOCK, CALL …. NIEDERREITER (21) – Took a dumb
penalty in the 3rd to give the Capitals a power play. Not sure
exactly what he was thinking there. The good news on that one, was that the
CANES were able to kill off the penalty.
MCGINN (23) –Had an assist on FOEGELE’s goal in the 1st
period. Deep into the 3rd he went bar and in on Holtby pretty much
ruining any chance of a Caps comeback.
MCKEGG (42) – Was having none of it as the game wound down.
He got jammed up against the boards on a partial miss by a Caps player trying
to introduce him to the plexy-glass.
MARTINOOK (48) – Had a really good chance at a goal early in
the game, but couldn’t put it in. In the 3rd he had a play where he
kept it in the zone while laying down on the ice. That’s how it’s freakin done.
WALLMARK (71) – Not much going on in his game tonight on the
score sheet.
NO ZOMBIES – Never kiss a zombie girl, even if she has Orbit
gum.
FERLAND (79) – I am sure we will find out what happened
after the game, but the CANES played most of this game without 2 forwards.
FERLAND was one of them, after leaving the ice in the 1st. He logged
just 2:08 minutes on the ice.
TERAVAINEN (86) – Solid game. There were a number of
incidents where you could feel him frustrating the defense for the Capitals by
just poking the puck away from defenders every chance he got.
FLEURY (4) – Jacked up a Capitals player with a cross check
to the face. Not the brightest idea. The Caps player lived. The CANES also
killed off that penalty.
PESCE (22) – Was tied for the lead on the team in blocks with 2. That isn’t
a big number, but it’s hard to get a lot of blocks when your defense is so on
fire the other team is barely getting any shots.
FAULK (27) – His shots from downtown are ridiculous, in the
awesome sort of way.
SLAVIN (74) – Had an assist on 2 of HAMILTON’s goals.
MRAZEK (34) – Just shut out the Caps tonight. No big deal.
It’s MRAZEK’s 5th playoff win overall in his career. 4 of those were
shut outs.
