IT CAME FROM OUT OF THE ICE : COYOTES (0) VS BLUES (1)  2/20/20

CAPSULE :  Rise up gather round, Rock this place to the ground ,Burn it up, let's go for broke, Watch the night go up in smoke ,Rock on,  Rock on ,Drive me crazier, no serenade ,No fire brigade, just pyromania, come on, What do you want, what do you want? I want rock 'n' roll, yes I do…*

GARLAND (83)  –  Shot tracker for Garland shows he hasn’t put a puck on net in the last 2 games. How is that even possible?

HALL (91) -  Had a breakaway in the 1st period but couldn’t bury it on a play where you kinda really need him to. In the 2nd he got a great pass right in front of the net and couldn’t put that shot past the Blues net-minder either. Not trying to pick on him, but these are the types of things that have been happening that are keeping the Coyotes scoring so low most nights. To Halls credit, he lead the team well into the 2nd period with 3 shots on net. He also looked like the best Coyote the entire game.

NESS (42)  Is very solid technique wise. Good game out of him tonight.

MENUTAUR – I don’t care what you say, a triple or quadruple cheese anything would probably give me a heart attack-ak-ak, you outta know by now.  That reminds me, I am kinda still hungry which is shocking because I still don’t feel good at all.

OEL – Has a wide open shot attempt well into the 2nd period but missed the net. To that point, the only shot the Coyotes had taken in the period was by Hall. (Literally over 13 minutes without a shot in the 2nd period for the Coyotes).

HAYTON (29) – Looks like the dude that works the gyro-sphere ride in Jurassic World. He had a nice backhand shot on the Blues tender late in the 2nd period, but couldn’t put it in the net.

STEVE PETERS – The video guy for the Coyotes is a freakin eagle eyed master. Tonight was the second night in a row the Coyotes caught a team off-sides to negate a goal they thought they scored fairly. If you are an out of town fan of this blog, don't freak out, the Coyotes still ended up losing both games.

STEPAN (21)  Really liked his game tonight, he won quite a few board battles, sometimes even when he was out-numbered. He also picked up a turnover in the 2nd period, but missed the net. Let’s just say there was a lot of that going on.

ZERO – The level of desire the Senators played with tonight.

KELLER (9) – Not good enough.

SODERBERG (34) – Not good enough.

OESTERLE (82) – Not good enough.

RICHARDSON (15) – Not good enough.

KESSEL (81) – Not good enough.

SCHMALTZ (8) – Not good enough.

TOP GOLF – I might have mentioned this before, but their logo is rad.

DVORAK (18)   Not good enough.

DOMINOES – Pie Pass sounds like something you get when you enter the State Fair and you are going to get a chance to throw a pie at the governor.

HJALMARSSON (4)  Not good enough.

GOLIGOSKI (33) - Not good enough.

CROUSE (67) – Not good enough.

THIS BLOG POST - Not good enough.

RAANTA (32)  Played the best game of his career probably and the Coyotes laid an egg. Damn, I think he deserved better in this one. Bloody hell.

EXTERNAL ICE Winnipeg ran all over Ottawa winning 5-1 and now has 59 pts on the season.

WRAP UP – The Coyotes are now officially out of a play-off spot for the first time in a very long time. The even worse news is that the teams trailing them and ahead of them have 3 or 4 games in hand in some cases. I haven’t been pushing the panic button all season. Probably not time to just yet, but it’s getting really freakin close.
